BUMESI began designing in Melbourne, Australia in 2009 where she was living abroad for 8 years. She developed a draping technique out of ready bought textiles from her overseas travels from Europe to Southeast Asia & Japan to New Zealand and Mexico. Her background is predominately working as a fashion photographer and filmmaker since 2007, after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Film & Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She has years of experience in and around the global fashion industry, from local avant-garde designers in Melbourne, Australia to the Issey Miyake USA in New York City. Her influences have constantly centered around individuality, the way the body moves, travel, punk culture and free spirited lifestyles.
The commercial consumer epidemic that influences all others from the first worlds has become a severe issue that could destroy everyone. BUMESI promotes one of a kind ready to wear from original patterns, constructed with hand made to recycled fabric, already created from countries all around the globe. BUMESI wishes to bring on a new era of global style and individuality to people who are brave enough to wear what they like, to make a statement and be strong enough to go anywhere they want bravely and freely in whatever they want.
